Quarter reading counts goals
Reading Counts is a reading incentive program that is produced by Scholastic, Inc. Ocean Knoll’s PTA is sponsoring Reading Counts as the school-wide reading program for students in grades K-6th.
How does Reading Counts work?
Points are accumulated when a student passes comprehension quizzes generated by a Scholastic computer program. Students are given time in class to take the Reading Counts quizzes. The more students read, the more rewards they can earn!
When does Reading Counts begin?
Students will begin accumulating Reading Counts points on August 26, 2019.
When does Reading Counts end?
The last day to take Reading Counts quizzes will be on June 5, 2020.

The fifth grade expects our students to at least get to the silver level by the end of the year. In order to do this, students have quarterly goals.
October 18: 35 points and Blue-level dog tag
December 19: 65 points and Red-level dog tag
March 27: 105 points and Bronze-level dog tag
June 5: 150 points and Silver-level dog tag
Of course, we encourage all of our students to surpass these mandatory goals. Below is a list of all of the reading levels by grade.
